Ysleta Mission Gift Shop was built on a simple belief: a small business can do more than sell products. It can welcome people, preserve stories, strengthen its community, and help visitors form a meaningful connection with the place they have come to experience.
With multi-generational roots in Ysleta, our connection to this community is personal. The history, faith, resilience, and traditions surrounding the Ysleta Mission continue to shape both who we are and what we hope our little shop contributes to the generations that follow.

Our Mission
Our mission is to welcome every guest with genuine hospitality while sharing the faith, culture, history, and spirit of Ysleta and El Paso.
Through thoughtfully selected Catholic and Christian gifts, religious art, cultural treasures, El Paso souvenirs, keepsakes, and distinctive finds, we hope to offer more than something to purchase.
We want our customers to find something that carries meaning.
That might be a rosary chosen for someone who needs prayer, a religious gift marking an important moment of faith, or a small souvenir that brings back memories of standing inside the historic Ysleta Mission.
At the same time, we strive to support small and local businesses whenever possible, give back to our community, and encourage visitors to explore the people, places, and history beyond our doors.
Our Goals
Our goals are rooted in the kind of business we want YMGS to remain as we continue to grow.
We want to preserve the personal service of a small family business, whether someone walks through our front door, calls us on the telephone, or shops with us online.
We want to offer distinctive merchandise that reflects faith, culture, El Paso, the Southwest, and the character of the historic Mission Trail.
We want to help visitors discover Ysleta—not simply pass through it.
We want to encourage guests to visit the Mission, learn about the Tigua people, continue along the Mission Trail, support neighboring small businesses, experience local restaurants and museums, and discover more of El Paso's rich borderland history.
We want to continue giving back to the community that has been home to generations of our family.
And we want to build a strong, sustainable business that can continue welcoming visitors for years to come while remaining true to the values on which it was built.
Growth matters to us, but never at the expense of losing who we are.
Our Inspiration
Our greatest inspiration is right outside our door.
The Ysleta Mission has endured for centuries through changing borders, floods, fire, hardship, rebuilding, and generations of change.
Yet it remains.
There is something deeply meaningful about that kind of resilience.
It reminds us that what lasts is not necessarily what is largest or newest, but what people continue to care for, protect, rebuild, and pass forward.
We are inspired by the generations who came before us, by the Tigua people whose history remains inseparable from this place, by the faith represented within the Mission walls, and by the community our own family has called home for generations.
We are also inspired by the people who visit.
Some arrive from just a few streets away. Others have traveled across Texas, across the country, or from another part of the world. Each person arrives with a different story.
Being able to welcome them into our little corner of El Paso is something we never want to take for granted.
Looking Forward
Our past gives us roots, but it does not prevent us from growing.
We continue looking for new ways to improve our shop, expand our online presence, introduce more people to the Mission Trail, strengthen relationships within our community, operate responsibly, and make YMGS an even more memorable part of the El Paso experience.
As we move forward, we want to remain recognizable to the people who have supported us from the beginning: personal, welcoming, independent, and proudly rooted in Ysleta.
We hope future generations will inherit not only the history surrounding this place, but also a community that continues to value it.
