Vintage Mexican Tin Folk Art Virgin Mary & Christ Child Statue 27 in – 70+ Years Old

A remarkable piece of Mexican Catholic folk art with more than 70 years of history. This 27-inch vintage Virgin Mary and Christ Child statue is crafted from worked tin metal and features dramatic dimensional sunburst halos, embossed and punched decoration, sculptural garments, and beautifully expressive painted faces. The hand-worked construction and naturally aged surface give this Madonna and Child figure the unmistakable character of an older devotional object.

The statue comes with known provenance documenting its history and age of more than 70 years, making it especially meaningful for collectors of vintage Mexican religious art and traditional Catholic folk art. At approximately 27 inches tall, she has a commanding presence and would make an extraordinary focal point for a home altar, devotional space, religious art collection, or Mexican folk-art collection.

Because of her age, signs of wear, oxidation, patina, surface variation, and other evidence of time should be considered part of the history and character of the piece rather than imperfections. Provenance information accompanies this piece.
